Jose Cuervo

The first Tequila made under the Jose Cuervo brand ran from the still on the family farm in 1795, after the founder’s son, also Jose Cuervo was formally granted permission to commercially distil tequila by King Carlos IV of Spain.

The skills, secrets and experience of the Cuervo founders was passed down through generations of family members, as the family business continued to thrive. In 1880, Jose Cuervo was the first brand of tequila to commercially sell Tequila in bottles, where all other producers were still selling in barrels.

Today, the business remains family owned. Many generations after Jose Cuervo first founded the brand, the production of fine quality world-renowned Tequilas continues in the traditions and values upon which it was
